Dr Richard Auty is Director of Salient Consulting Ltd. Previously, he was the Non-Executive Chairman of MNL Pharmaceuticals Ltd, a private UK drug discovery and development company focused on the exploitation of imino sugar therapeutics for the prevention and treatment of disease. He was also a Non-Executive Director of KuDOS Pharmaceuticals Ltd, which is involved in the discovery and development of drugs based upon the science of DNA damage sensing, signalling and repair to address unmet medical needs in cancer treatment.

Dr Auty is a member of the Expert Scientific Advisory Committee of the Medicines for Malaria Venture and Visiting Professor of Medicine at the University of Malawi. He is also R&D Director of Zeneca Pharmaceuticals and Non-Executive Director of Cantab plc. He is a past member of the Medicines Commission and also the Council of the MRC.
