Dr George Carter retired from Abbott Laboratories in 2001 as Divisional Vice President, Pharmaceutical Products Division. During his 28-year career at Abbott he was responsible for multidisciplinary drug discovery activities mainly focusing on inflammatory and immune disorders. Under his leadership, his teams advanced 11 compounds into clinical trials.

George is currently President of Pharos Consulting, Inc., a company he founded, that specializes in providing advice and assistance to biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Dr Carter holds a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Frostburg State University and a PhD in Pharmacology from West Virginia University.
