CRTH2 ROLE IN ALLERGY

CRTH2 ANTAGONISTS

Oxagen is developing a pipeline of novel small molecule drugs for asthma and other allergic and inflammatory conditions. In its origins as a GPCR focussed genetics company Oxagen identified 60 genetic associations across five diseases, namely, asthma, autoimmune disease, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. In 2005 the company prioritised the GPCR target CRTH2 (also known as DP2) for asthma and allergy drug development and has developed a portfolio of potent small molecule CRTH2 antagonists on which the company focuses its resources. Genetic validation data on the range of GPCR targets previously addressed is available for out-licensing – see Business Development.
